Every pop-up starts the same way for me — a countertop full of supplies, a mental checklist I definitely didn't write down anywhere, and a small moment of "okay, did I forget something this time?"
So I finally put together the full list of what actually goes with me to every single pop-up. Some of it's obvious. Some of it I only figured out after a few events of winging it. Sharing it here in case it saves another small shop owner a trip back to their car mid-setup.
Getting it all there
Nothing moves without the heavy duty wagon first. I didn't think I needed something this sturdy until I tried hauling crates and bins across a parking lot with a regular cart and half of it tipped over. This one folds flat, holds way more than it looks like it should, and has actual wheels that handle grass and gravel — not the flimsy ones that get stuck after ten feet.
Setting up the table
Once I'm actually at the table, it's:
- A cute umbrella — half practical, half just makes the whole setup look more inviting from a distance
- Lanns table linen — the difference between a table that looks "put together" and one that looks like a garage sale is honestly just a good tablecloth
- Crates for display — I use these to add height and levels to the table instead of everything sitting flat. Stack a couple, tuck some books or products on top, and suddenly the table has dimension
- A simple wooden book display rack — holds books upright and facing out, which matters more than I expected. Flat stacks just don't get picked up the same way
The small stuff that actually matters most
Somehow the smallest items are the ones I'd be most stuck without:
- Stickers for pricing — fast, clean, no guessing what something costs
- Bags — every sale needs a bag, and having South Euclid Shop's own branded ones makes even a quick pop-up purchase feel like it came from somewhere intentional, not just a folding table
